CIVIL LITIGATION: Bloom & Buell represents defendants in civil litigation in both state and federal courts in Massachusetts and Rhode Island. In addition to insurers in the health care sector, these services are now provided more generally to insurers for transportation companies, product manufacturers, and the like, as well as self-insurers in various business sectors. Bloom & Buell also provides representation and advocacy in the many different types of alternative dispute resolution.

ADMINISTRATIVE LAW: As an outgrowth of its services in civil litigation, Bloom & Buell provides advocacy before many state and federal boards and agencies, such as Boards of Registration in Medicine, Nursing, Dentistry, Pharmacy and the like, the Massachusetts Commission Against Discrimination, the Disabled Persons Protection Commission, and for insurers, the Division of Insurance.

INSURANCE LAW: From its close association with so many insurers over the years, Bloom & Buell has come to provide insurance law services, such as coverage opinions, and assistance in licensure matters before the state Division of Insurance.

CHARTER SCHOOLS: Starting with a personal interest of one of the partners a number of years ago when Charter Schools were just in the conceptual stage, Bloom & Buell has developed an area of practice in the counseling and representation of these entities, either as general counsel or on particular issues, throughout New England, with presentations made by the firm at many national convocations.
